But that's for the semi permanent attachment of a halyard to a snap shackle.

It's nice and compact, but under load the blood knot (half of a fishermen's knot) works itself together and becomes harder and harder to undo. Not really suitable for attaching a spinnaker for a single race where a bowline is ideal. Although a yosemite bowline is better according to my crew.
