Hi, I.m Peter.
The idea of retiring aboard a comfortable cruiser and spending a year or two or more, pottering around the coastlines of Asia, in particular Thailand, has taken a firm hold in my imagination.
I would like to get a general overview of cruising in these areas and in particular any risks or dangers I might expose myself to.
Hints, tips and information, especially with regard to officialdom would be greatly appreciated, and an address or two of private individuals resident in Thailand who would care to correspond and maybe befriend me would be extremely useful.
If any readers could point me in the right direction maybe my daydream could become a reality.

Just a quick warning, Thai pirates are very real. Having spent 12 years in the Far East (albeit left about 10 years ago), they
are, or were, still there.

Peter if you have your own boat and enough experience to sail it to Thailand you won,t have any problems. if you are not ready for that....then sugest you try chartering ....beleive Sunsail still has a base in Phuket...have sailed to Thailand and spent a couple years there and planning to go back eventualy....
