Couple of regular haunts I've found excellent:

1. Da Vinci's on the quay. Excellent Italian, very busy in the Summer. Run by a group of mad Italians and is really good fun. Av price per head between £15-£30

2. Storm Fish Restaurant - Just up from Da Vinci's on the High St, a great selection of decent fish dishes.

3. John B's - again on the high st - looks very ordinary from the outside but is very very well worth visiting.

I was also talking to the Landlord of the Banke's Arms in Studland. He told me that the buoys in the bay (the big orage ones with Banke's Arms written on them!) are laid by him at the cost of about £8000 per year. After me moaning about boats knicking them for the entire weekend, he stated that they should be able to cope with up to five reasonably sized boats (33ft) rafted up per buoy.

So don't be shy, if there are no buoys left, go and raft up - if anyone has a problem with it tell them to give Tim (the landlord) a ring up at the pub!

Bay City Views is an excellent Chinese in Poole - its seems to be in an old nightclub and is usually very busy and you need to book. The food is great and its the only Chinese I know where people dress up for a night out.
Walk up the Quay to the bridge, turn right and its about 1/4 mile on the left near the Lifeboat HQ

da vinci's is fun but run to a med clock - if you have the evening free adn have a table booked for 1900h you might get seated around then - or you might not! but good fun and reasonable prices. also cater for kids pretty well.

Also recomend the Oriel (?) cafe/bistro on the Quay. Excellent meals and reasonable prices.

the observation about the Banks buoys is on here already somewhere....I would add that the pubs phone number is on the buoys if you need it. difficult call joining a boat yo don't know on a buoy - if you put a line to the buoy you end up with a pretty poor match unless the 2 boats have accomadating hull shapes. if you are all mates its fine - one really solid line to the buoy and a standard raft! However we have never failed to find either a decent place to anchor in Studland or a forum boat already at anchor in a nice spot! Fly the flag /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
