Hi all
Is there anybody who cruises on the east coast at displacement speed 8 Knots or are we on our own?
We cruise from Gt Yarmouth or Lowestoft to Southwold - River Deben - River Orwell - Ipswich - Walton on the Naze.
If so we may see you?

Mike.

I knew what you meant, Mike. Yes, gas/petrol, but I must say that in over 1100hr over 9yr, my 7.4l Mercs have only given me probs twice, this being the second time. Spent all this morning in 29C heat changing all plugs and plug leads and I have the cuts and grazes to prove it:-) Might go for a blast across Sarasota Bay later hoping all is now well with pt engine. Actually we find 8kt very pleasant when we don't want to get anywhere in a hurry.

Hi Mike, I'm may just be buying a Seamaster 30 if all goes well. I would be cruising from Gt Yarmouth at those sort of speeds. If all goes well maybe I could tag along with you sometime?

Well Mike
You will be most welcome, that’s 2 = sea breeze plus some Fairline Holidays.
Let me know how you get on buying the seamaster.
Do you have any sea experience.
All the best
Mike

Hi Mike

I cruise at about 8 to a speedy 10 if pushing it !

We cruise out of Faversham with the ocasional hop to france and the annual visit to St Kats.

Up the thames with the tide I can do 12 ! showing off now !

I find this speed economical and plesant !

Tom

ps my boat does 3.2 kts on tick over ? is this too fast ?

Hi I am in the process of rebuilding a Teal22 and fitting a Ford diesel engine. When finished I hope it will cruise at about that speed and I fancy a week or so down on the broads so look out for a Teal named Thursdays Child next year.

Hi Tom
Well if you come north we may see you, we also hope to do the Thames. Ramsgate and hop over to France. Your speed too fast, depends on your engines rpm
All the best
Mike.
