Cruising an Ex pilot vessel

Some very interesting options suggested here. The 42 Nelson “EchoPilot” would be just what I invisaged initially. Having looked at the other suggestions I will have to look more closely.

Yep, iveco Fiat engines are pretty much worthless but that hull with reman Cummins is probably worth £50k, or £10k as it stands.

rustybarge............are you bidding?

What is wrong with Iveco engines? 2 x 280 hp with 500hrs surely not scrap.

Would £10k buy it really?

Would you buy second hand Fiat diesels ?

My reasoning is that an early 80's boat with crappy Iveco engines is probably only worth the hull value. You can buy a new hull moulding at about £1k/ft so its hard to see £50-60k in an old boat like like that unless it has been refitted with a well know brand of diesel engine like Volvo Cat or Cummins.

So how much would you be willing to pay for an old 80's hull+ superstructure? £10k, £15k?.....

Makes sense.
Before we got the DAF tractor unit we ran an ERF with a 14 litre Cummins 320 hip..... Awesome truck, wish we still had it.

Don’t rule out the smaller 33 Aquastar.
We (me and swmbo) have just returned after three and a half years away (a live aboard cruise to France, Spain, Gib, Morocco, Italy Monaco)
Boat was plenty big enough for the two of us in comfort and the occasional guest.
Now spending the winter refurbishing it ready to go again in the spring.
