VicS,
there are the ' paint staging ' rafts in Langstone Harbour (originally Admiralty but now sold off, International Paints own one) where plates treated in various paints are lowered into the water to see how they perform; I always thought they are too close together and would contaminate each other, which I suspect would happen to the OP's boat if he experimented.
Also I find my boat on a swinging mooring grows more weed on the starboard side which generally gets more sunlight due to the way the tides work out.
I would prefer to think that the people who carry out these tests are qualified and experienced coatings technologists who know what they are doing.
Well I'm a qualified engineer but I've seen many glaring mistakes by people supposedly better qualified than me !
' Common ' sense seems to be a very rare element....
but these peoplele would be scientists not engineers
The EU version has a higher CuO content but none of the biocide dichlofluanid.
There are also some minor differences in the solvent makeup.
They will mix but why not use them separately. It would be interesting to see if there is any difference in performance.
The EU version will cost more, be less effective, allow critters to take up residence and prevent you from removing them no matter how much harm they do.
