International launched last year, a specific one coat ‘between tides’ antifoul called ‘Cruiser UNO’.

For people such as myself it is just the kind of product I have been looking for.

Has anybody used it or heard about it’s effectiveness?

Drying /immersion time is 7 hours at 5C and 5 hours at 15C.

Price is about 60 UKP for 3 litres.

Would I be right in thinking that ‘volume solids’ means what’s left after the solvent has gone ? 49% in this case. What would a ‘specific gravity’ of 1.6 mean ? Would I be correct in thinking that copper is primarily used for shell fouling and biocides for weed , slime etc ?

These are just the sort of questions I would like to ask at the show but it look’s like I won’t make it.

Many Thanks To All

Was used on my new boat launched in August and still afloat now. So far, from what I can see, I've no fouling, normally I would expect to see some at the waterline by now. Obviously launching in August I was past the worst of the fouling season and I'll know more when its lifted in March but from what I can see at the moment I'm impressed.

Hadn't heard of that one. But in practice I've always ant-fouled between tides, and have never experienced a problem due to the limited drying time ... sometimes as little as an hour or two. Have had good results the last couple of years with 'FLAG' (from Screwfix at £35/2.5l) (Chichester Hbr, Solent).

I actually won a tin last year and applied it a week before we launched at the beginning of May. Lifted out on 1st December and there was very little to clean off, there was also quite a lot of paint still on the boat after the pressure hosing.
We are in the Clyde so maybe we do better than south and east coast boats

I used UNO last year on my Moody 346 bilge keeler, I previously used cruiser premium which I thought was excellent but they discontinued it, the preparation for the UNO was minimal as I was not prepared to spend any more time than I had to crawling around under quite a large bilge keeler - a quick and average jet wash, applied one coat to the whole of the hull and a 2 further coats to the leading edges (just to use up the tin) It dried in 20mins or so. Boat went in in March, i was unable to use it for 6 weeks due to new family member, had boat out in August due to vibration from thumb sized barnacles on prop and prop shaft (did not anti foul!) there was no fouling on the hull at all, boat is still in and no fouling is visible at the water line and I am not expecting any when she comes out in 2 weeks time.
we are on the east coast.
Would I use again?
I will be buying some at the boat show when I visit tomorrow and they are giving 30% away free.
hope this helps
