Cruise ship colours

Quite a sight though, I kinda like it.

Not too keen on that line with the big red lips around the bow. It's...not right. ?

Are you in Haslar?

Obviously continuing/developing the Virgin group's logo/house colours.

That set me thinking, Branson, and the Virgin name for his companies, started off as a mail-order record seller, then a record shop, then a record label etc. Had he stuck with the original Virgin logo the cruise ship would have to sport some variation on this -

Perhaps also it's lucky that it was Virgin Records that led to cruise ships' livery, and not the Vertigo record label. :D

When the ship first started work out of Miami in 2019, the whole hull was red to match the funnel and upper works. I think it looks a bit better now. Still bloody big when it comes in through the harbour entrance though!

No. We’re back on our own mooring just up the harbour. (S of Hardway in what the RNSA moorings call, ‘Area 52’.
Taking the RNSA literally with 'the cockpit of every members yacht is our clubhouse' I enjoyed some awesome evenings with the one time moorings secretary, Captain Tim Norman-Walker. What a man!

Also I knew his Coxn, John Killian quite well.

Aar, ships was wood, men was steel. ??

John’s retirement bash is in a few day’s time. He still drives ‘Grace’ the RNSA water taxi occasionally.
I also knew Tim Norman Walker. He died a few weeks ago. A lovely man and a great character.

Oh that's sad news. Mrs. S will be a tad emotional. A true gentleman now on eternal patrol. ? Will raise a glass to him and remember our excellent evenings on Black Morwena.

To my mind, the boat is fuuuugly, like almost all cruise liners - a council block that floats, but that colour scheme actually diminishes the impact of that fuuuuugliness.

To me it'd be a floating prison, but if people enjoy what they offer, good luck to 'em,
To my eyes, it looks horrendous. But hey, à chacun son goût.

But the punters on board don't have to look at her, except when they are tottering back to the ship after a run ashore (or a day out on a sailing cat, all drinks included) somewhere, and by then they couldn't really give a damn what the ship looks like, so long as it does the job of showing them a different island every day.

For some reason YouTube's started showing me cruise review videos. Not sure why as I've never been on one and have no plans to go, but occasionally I do watch the recommended video. One recently was on the Virgin ship, and the lady reviewing it decided that on balance she liked the colour as being different to the norm.
