Spargi

Spargi looks just about perfect. Hardly anyone there too, which is nice.

I believe Spargi is part of Italy not Sardinia and therefore visitors are not subject to "boat tax".

Did you check out Isola Razzoli, Santa Maria and Budelli or any other the other small islands close by?

Re: Spargi

That's handy about the boat tax, didn't know that. Mind you, those islands are so deserted that I can't beleive the tax collectors come round anyway. And I think the tax is only triggered if you go ashore. Morten (Joey's bloke, and captain of a 56m /amels whose boss wants the boat in costa Smeralda for a few weeks every August) says they don't pay it when they anchor off Cala Di Volpe and Porto Cervo and go ashore by tender. He has told the collectors to send an invoice to the boat's registered shore support office, and then they write back saying the tax is illegal and they aren't paying etc etc. I'll let him tell you the story first hand

Yes that cluster of 3 (Razzoli, SM, Budelli) is pretty much same as Spargi. Beautiful anchorages. All very quiet, no big blingy hinterland towns/hotels like Volpe and Cervo. I dont have pics on this pc, might do at home.

Spargi is one of my favourite spots. There's nothing there apart from what you see in my pics, but that's the whole point. With the right weather (and maybe a stern line ashore in some circumstnaces) it's an overnight anchorage all to yourself and bbq on the beach. The beach in my pic faces E so it's perfect spot to sit on beach (you need plentiful stash of G&T, obviously) and watch a full moon rise. There are other similar spots facing W if you are a sunset person :-)

Here's a pic taken heading SE passing Maddalena on our port side

and below is an anchorage just to the N of Lavezzi, tucked in a lee (sheltering from westerly) of mainland Corsica. Called Cala Longa, 41deg 23.7N, 9deg 14.3E
