Hi,

I have three days to head off to Blackwater/Crouch over the upcoming bank holiday weekend. One part of my crew that weekend likes her creature comforts so it's showers/restaurants for the night. I thought we could stop at Bradwell for Sat. night. Cruise up the Blackwater then double back out to sea and round to the Crouch. I'm not familiar with the Crouch so ideas for the place to stop on Sunday night would be appreciated. Marina not essential (bouy would be fine/preferable) but access to showers/decent pub/resto is...

Cheers, Mark

I think that Rice and Coles have a shower block for users of their moorings.... as would Royal Corinthians Yacht Club.... there is a water taxi service

Personally, to make life easier, i'd go into Burnham Yacht Harbour.... where there is a very decent restaurant...

Its also only a few mins walk right into town, where there is an admirable choice of pubs and eateries....

For the Rice & Coles showers you need a key obtainable from Rice and Coles chandlery. Showers are part of the caravan site and are OK but not special.

Royal Corinthian showers OK, but also not special.

Water taxi does not run all day, think it finishes around 5.00 ish.

Loads of restaurants in Burnham including rather nice thai restaurant and outrageously expensive fish restaurant, as well as the usual Indian and pub grub and so on.

Burnham YC has best showers and good food in Yacht Club.

On a fine summers day the walk into town can be quite pleasant. Raining or cold, or both, it can be a bit of a yomp.
