I heard a rumour today that the Crouch Yacht Club in Burnham has gone bust, anyone got firm details or is it just not true?

I heard this confirmed at the end of jan. As I recall only 120 members or so, not enough revenue to pay the ongoing bills.

The Crouch Yacht certainly hasn't gone bust. Membership and funds have reached an all time low and at an EGM two weeks ago it was decided to keep the club open, but on a lower cost basis, which will give the club time to consider the future. All visitors and new members are still welcome to visit the club which will help keep the friendliest club on the East Coast hopefully going for another 100 years.

I feel guilty now for not being a member anymore. Problem is times are hard and you have to cut down on things like membership if you aren't using the facilities.
Very friendly place and members.
