There seems to be an unbelievable disparity between 'specials' and 'standard' fares
At the moment I can get a booze-cruise day return ticket for a car plus up to five passengers for £25 but an ordinary one-way single costs £127. If, say, I have to leave the boat in Calais 'cos of weather and go back for it later, what's to stop me using the £25 ticket and throwing the return half away? Information elsewhere seemed to suggest that ferry company somehow tracks this and then do you for breach of booking Ts&Cs. Anyone got any advice?

I can only speak about one of the ferry companies ( the big conglomerate if that helps).
They have been stating that they will do this but can not really monitor due to their systems it nor effectively stop it.

At the end of the day you just say ''of course I came back , how do you think I got here?'' Same is true in aviaation by the way, as long as you use tickets 'in the right order' you are fine.

Think they all have enbough problems at the moment cos some have been raided on suspicion of price - fixing (again).

By the way do look at the train services , they have been knocking out some really cheap mid-week stuff - both pax and car.
