I use a pair of Crocs on the boat, those plastic looking sandels.......they are without doubt the best gripping boat shoes I have every used....the problem is whilst sailing back from Arran today in grotty wet weather I had the eberspacher going full pelt down below, my crocs were sitting near the heat vent outlet, when I got back to Troon I swopped my wellies for my crocs only to find they had shrunk one size in the hot air blast from the ebby!!!

Did you manage to dodge the downpours? I had my first experience of flash flooding today, got caught out on the wrong side of the closed road at Newmilns. Never seen rail like it in this country.

SPYRO....Anchored at Kingscross my favourite place for the night, very quiet but this morning the rain was torrential, the water fall that you only ever hear but cannot see for the trees was an amazing sight!! Wet all the way home till I got to Troon then the sun came out

I recently wore a pair of crocs for 3 months continuous sailing, including long walks ashore.

I agree they are fantastic (even keeping foot odour at bay). However, once I had worn out the tread they became lethal on slippery wet surfaces.

So I would buy another pair, but I would keep the mileage down.

I would say that a hot ember from a bonfire dropped inside my crocs, I still have the scar on my foot but the Crocs were undamaged. Agree about worn crocs and particularly wet metal as found on some pontoons.
