Following the debate on the Welcome Anchorages thread I called in to the office to verify the info. I had given.

Max. Draught - Up to 2.2m no problem anticipated; 2.2-2.5m need to give at least 24 hrs. notice (48hrs preferred); over 2.5m. round the Mull!
Dredging is planned, not known when.

Opening hours, 5th March to 21st April 08-30 until last locking at 1600 open Saturdays, closed Sundays.
23rd April - 17th Sept - last locking 17-00, open 7 days.
7th June - 12th August as above plus Crinan sealock to Crinan Bridge last locking 19-00, correction (Thur. To Sun.only)
17th. Sept. back to last locking 16-00, Closed Sunday except School holiday weekend 23/09
22nd. October, winter hours, Mon-Fri. last locking 15-00

Hugh and I hope to provide a similar service to last year with priority to existing customers, same contact details, 'Yot Spot' went bust during the winter.

You could always ask them to move it.

Might be handy one day to have a dedicated Local Knowledge forum. Given the lack of trust some of us have with Reed's etc.

We'll be coming through in late May/early June, I hope, to spend a month based at Kerrera before heading for the hairy bits ... I'll be in touch.

I know you weren't over keen on Yot Spot, but they did a damned fine steak. What are the alternative dining options in Ardrishaig these days - is the Indian still just a memory?

The word is that they will have someone to come in to run the restaurant through the summer, the chandlery/gift shop is unlikely to open ( contents were in a series of skips last week, seemed a shame, particularly as I suspect that much of the arty stuff may still have been owned by the creators) and it looks as if the village has lost its Post Office.
The Border Patrol did for the Bangladeshi restaurant along with a few others up the West Coast, all long gone. There are no fine dining establishments around here but the Rumblin Tum ( despite the naff name, an excellent workers/transport cafe) was offering decent food in the evenings last summer, bring your own bottle.

Jings, how old must Claysie be? there has not been a Police Station in this village for a couple of centuries.

Thanks. Having a good restaurant was a definite boon for Ardrishaig ... is there somewhere nice in Lochgilphead? I can't think one off-hand, though when it was in my patch for work we used to do OK at the Stag (was it the White Stag then?) if we weren't in Stonefield Castle.

The Taj Mahal on Hall Street? We went there in 2016 after a traumatic trip up from Glenarm ... my crew's beloved sailing dinghy, which we were using as tender, filled and sank in Sanda Sound. Thanks to the RNLI, who were out on exercise, we recovered but really needed a curry on arrival, and as we made our way in I was hoping that the Taj Mahal was still there, having had an excellent carry-out from there with my sister while stormbound in the Jouster in 1989.

I used to enjoy going to the Taj Mahal but I wasn't impressed with the last visit. Maybe the normal people who ran it were on holiday and had got their second cousins in for the week but it was very disorganised. There is another curry house in Campbeltown that I haven't tried, but the last few times we've just gone up to the hotel bar directly across. Very good bar food, but you have to be smartish to get a table though.
