Crimp/wire stripper/etc tool at Lidl

£7.99, very nice, comes with a load of various terminations; spade terminals, bullet connectors & blade connectors male & female. I didn't see it on the Lidl website, but this video is it. It's in French, but the subtitles tell all.

A friend has one like that and they're a waste of time and money. The crimper is a straight non ratchet job (the dies are on the inside of the handle in the top left picture against the index finger. The stripper is too big and clumsy for most uses I've tried it on. It's very difficult to get the length of strip right.

I have the CK version which is brilliant. Use it pretty much daily and in a lot of big install jobs. I don't really us it for crimping as I have a ratchet crimper which is a lot more reliable.

a. Multi-purpose tools generally under perform compared to single-purpose versions. Why bother.
b. non-ratchet crimpers belong in the bin in my opinion. Even the best can under crimp if you are tired or in a bad position, where ratchet crimpers, if properly adjusted, are VERY reliable.

Rather than having several tools I use rarely, I have just the one.

Practice with the non-ratchet crimpers.
