Anyone with experience of a complete crew change (inc skipper) in the E Baltic?

Planning a cruise next year and will need to change crew after the initial delvery. Looking at Ryan Air etc the best bet appears to be Gdansk (Poland).

Does anyone know what the regulatory issues will be in terms of arrriving on one form of transport and leaving on another? Or arriving with one crew and leaving with another?

Hello, there are no regulatory issues if they're all EU passport holders (unless they're staying more than 3 months), and you can come and go freely on any form of transport you like.

Obviously when arriving in and leaving Poland you need to report to a passport control. Probably best to VHF ahead. You should also check whether they still require you to report to local officials when heading to a different port as they used to in socialist times. I doubt it, but possibly still necessary when sailing between Scczecin and Gdansk?

You will need a crew list with the crew names on. When you change crews, cross the old names off and write the new ones underneath. There are various forms of crew lists floating around (for example the Finnish coastguard has one downloadable somewhere on their website), but there's no special fixed form it has to be in. The Finns are very keen on these crew lists, as are the Baltic States. I presume Poland's the same.

I haven't actually sailed to Poland, the above info is based on my cruising around Estonia, Latvia, Finland etc, but the regulatory requirements (or lack of them) will be similar. But I live in Poland, so am familiar with the place.

If you're wanting to fly to Gdansk, apart from Ryanair there's also Wizzair ( web page) who fly to Gdansk not only from London, but also Liverpool and for example Sweden.

you better be quick or the new govenment and/or Brussels will close down all the wonderful places to eat there!!!

Ive heard the Polish sausage is going to be banned!!!Why ? Becouse Brussels dident manage to ban the British nor French Sausage?? what a reason!! So hurry up
