Creek Crawlers Club

LOL thats a good idea ........... We could organise something like a mini Oxford & Cambridge :D :D

I had a Morris Oxford once.

We don't have a tender on Full Circle, but we do have an Admiralty Pinnace for Liberty runs ashore. I do hope that retail facilities such as Gucci, Prada and Moschino are available for our guests, and that there is a healthy smattering of authentic local people doing arts & craftwork that we can purchase as souvenirs.

Sorry Jim but a Pinnace will not be suitable for ferrying guest's up creeks:

LOA: 14.0m (46'0")
LWL: 0.0m (0'0")
Beam: 4.1m (13'7")
Draft Min: 2.0m (6'6")
Draft Max: 2.0m (6'6")
Displacement: 0kg (0.0lbs)
Headroom: 1.8m (6'0

As for clothing the local shop might be able to sell you a pair of wellies so that you pick your souvenirs such as Samphire or live crabs!

At 1.3 metres Wunja is evidently not an East Coast vessel, and the closest I have to a tender is my son's 15 euro pvc dinghy (more of a bath toy) which I wouldn't want to row anywhere.

Can't you get the pier extended to proper depth of water? :D

What is a 'proper' east coaster?

All 3 boats I have owned on the East Coast have drawn 4' 6" or 1.4m in new money. 2 of these boats have been by East Coast Designers / yards. Guess I just ditch crawl in deeper ditches, use the tides and watch the echo sounder more or sit on the mud for longer when I get it wrong! I know others on the forum have much more underneath them too.

I do have an avon inflatable :D

'Proper' east coaster

The 'proper' (note the quotes) East Coaster is someone who claims their boat will float happily on damp mud.

Actually I think I'm becoming one, as two weeks ago someone stole all the water in Hollandsche Diepe and I managed to register 0.0 on the depth sounder in the marina entrance channel!

Me too! :) Does this mean we have to setup an exclusive sect for Avon owners? :D

Saying that, mine is in fact older than me so maybe i'll have my own sect for 'Classic' Avon owners. :D

I think a true East-Coaster is someone who sees 10ft on the depth guage and thinks they're in a deep water channel. :D

Can I join?

Sirenia draws 1.5m but if I wave the pump handle up and down a bit and yank the rudder up she will scrape over with 1 ft of water.
She has circumnavigated Horsey Island twice.

Ah of course you own an Evo, with its unique cockpit ''Bullworker'' :D unlike my A26 it has a cholesterol building finger switch! ;)

But this means that I can keep warm with the exercise and save battery amps for something important, like running the Eber Heating.:D

Just to add to our Creek Crawling exploits we managed to escape from Bradwell Marina at low water springs the other year.
That polished the prop.

A great creek crawler Evo 25's , my A26 unlike your boat needs a massive 18 inches of water before she can go anywhere, but I can boast however of a draft of 6 feet with the keel down!

A creek I visited in 2009. And had a barbecue at, winning 3 bottles of red in the raffle.
