I've bought a couple of dozen of the CREE Q5 torches, from Amazon as in my Post #1.

I've just had my first DOA failure, but it was an easy fix. I hadn't realised that the LED assembly screws into the body. You can't grip it because of the sliding focus tube, but twisting the tube with your finger on the LED assembly seems to work. Those who had non-working ones should check this: the battery negative should sit almost flush with the bottom of the threads for the switch, more than 1mm means the LED assembly is loose.

By the way, they are now £2.03 with free delivery.

At that price they surely can't be legitimate.

I have a couple of cheap T7 torches which were from Amazon and clearly not produced by led lenser. They came with batteries with mispelt labels etc. These things are OK for your drawer but not of the quality the name attached suggests.

I don't think they're claiming to be Lenser. I have several I picked up from ebay for a couple of quid and they've been excellent.

In fact they're not only brighter than my P7, but the Lenser has actually packed up whilst they're still fine.

Given the price and range of these cheap cree led torches, I doubt I'll ever pay Lenser type prices for a torch again.
