2 years ago I fitted a new Vetus (Mitsubishi) 4 cylinder. It has proven to be an excellent engine. Smooth running, reliable, easy start etc. But the electrical control panel fitted to it has been awful. First the generator stopped charging due to an internal short in the over complicated warning light panel. Then the glo plug circuit wouldn't work. Then the oil pressure light came on and frightened the hell out of me until I determined this to be a false reading. Then the ammeter packed up. Now the rev counter has gone west. I just don't believe the problems I have had.
Has anyone else had similar experiences with Vetus engine controls?

As you seem to have had consistantly bad use from you control system, and Vetus having a reputation to protect it might be worth while admonishing them and see what you can get out of them in the way of better service and replacements.
What happened to any garauntee that came with it?

Guarantee 12 months from purchase. Vetus not interested. The reason I posted this is that I wanted to know if others had the same problem

I haven't fitted Vetus engine controls, but I have also had bad experiences with Vetus. I have had 3 of their water tanks. The first failed under warranty and was replaced by one that leaked from new. I was promised a refund but apparently their computer couldn't cope with giving money back so they still owe me the money.

Later in the Canaries I fitted a second tank prior to my Atlantic crossing. Unfortunately the only tanks the chandler had were Vetus ones. The one I got also leaked from new but I was able to fix it.

The upshot is that I wouldn't buy anything from Vetus again. A pity as they do make some good stuff, they just don't have any quality control and don't support customers.
