Crap weather forecasts

Trying to work out whether it is worth venturing out on Friday (Poole Bay, IOW etc) and the weather forecasts vary from F4 (Accuweather) to F9 !!!!!!!!!!! (MetCheck).

Who do you believe, and would you go out???

Wouldn't really rely on either of those two.

Better to try windfinder.com or theyr.

I use about 6 sites and they all pretty much agree - the weather will be crap on Friday and Saturday. Another cancelled weekend for us /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Windfinder and Metcheck both use the same GFS data but Metcheck are forecasting for over land speeds.

I used to use Theyr for weather forecasts but their cloud prediction swere always wrong. Their wind forecasts are reasonable but its ALWAYS good to check a number of sources - let's not forget the usual shipping forecast which is good for offshore cruising. That's why I setup my weather site, so I could refer to a number of sources of forecasts. If you use a mobile and laptop then the Saildocs GRIB data is the best.
