Can't speak for the 32, but I had a Zaffiro 34 and now have a Smeraldo 37.
I loved the 34 and love the 37.... I won't be changing any time soon (unless there's a lottery win in the near future)

Based on the Giada 30. Chine rides like b%^*+]d with ad31, suspect even worse with 225s and an huge platform dragging along for the ride. Try an S28, Targa 28, Bav 30. All older and dearer but for a reason.

Actually given that I have seen the boat out of the water, I believe that the hull looks like a serious design.
You see.... I am fishing in the winters, so need aft space, and cruising with the family in the summers, so need twin cabin layout and enclosed head. Finally I need stern drives, not shafts, so US fisherman boats (Luhrs, Tiara, etc) are out of the list....
With that said, Z32 ticks alot of boxes.
Any owners out there?

A lot of false information here.
Hull is not coming from 29/30 Giada, and platform does not drag. If it platform did drag, it means boat does not plane since it sits like a foot above waterline.
Cranchi also did a sportfishing version name 32 Pelican which has a couple fish boxes and t-hard top.
Build quality is okay, a bit economic in some areas (always a Cranchi trait see: rubber rub rail, cleats, bolted swim platform, iroko instead of teak etc) but if one can live with this it is okay.

I have just sold my Cranchi Pelican 32 which is the "fishing" version of the Zaffiro. Had it from new (2005). There was a problem with the DPH legs where for some unknown reason VP thought it was a good idea the have the steering rams shaft exposed to the salt water. The result was the barnacle growth shredded the seals and you lost all steering. VP eventually solved the problem by covering the ram with a gaiter and modified the seals. Apart from that I was very pleased with the performance and handling. Happy to answer any other questions by pm if you like.

Thread drift, butmVolvo haven't solved the problem with the steering rams, my dph drive had new rams last July, and they have failed again 12 months later.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck. Perhaps your replacement rams were the unmodified ones? MIne were replaced 6 years ago and are still going strong.

I guess I don't know for 100%certain,but they do look like the new rams. My boat man tells me he is still replacing several sets of rams on boats every year, all of them the new type.
These ones on mine have lasted less than 12 months so am attempting to claim warranty on them from volvo as they are less than 12 months old.
I do suspect that the more you use the boat the less the chance of having a ram failure is,as there is less barnacle build up. My boat gets no use from October to may

It cost me around 5000 euros for replacement rams and steering pump over a period of 4 years. Thats when replacement ram was a tad short of 1000 euros! I wrote a letter to the VP president saying the rams were "not fit for purpose". Had a call from a very nice man who, after seeing all my invoices, promptly arranged a full credit.
