Help i have just bought a zaffeo 34. Found most things now but i cant find the macerator switch or the pump?
On the bulk head forward of the starboard engine there are two switches. Top one is the auxiliary bilge pump and under it is a rocket switch which apears to do nothing. Is this for macerator and pump is us?

I can't help specifically for that boat, but on a lot of boats that size the macerator pump switch is in the heads near to the waste tank level guage.

Have a look there.

If a holding tank is installed, the boat should have two macerator pumps.

The first macerator pump lies at the base of the toilet (usually Jabsco) that directs the effluent either to the holding tank that lies beneath the rear bed of the aft cabin or directly at sea, depending the position of the Y-valve.
The second macerator lies of the outer side of the starboard engine, at the rear of it, and directs the effluent from the holding tank to the sea.
The discharge point is below the bathing platform.

I don't understand the word "rocket" as English is not my birth language, but yes this is the switch for the macerator that empties the holding tank at sea.
If you press the switch and don't hear anything there might be a problem with the macerator (not working).

Enjoy your new Zaffiro! The boat is a gem!!

Your English is good! "rocket" was a typo, should be "rocker" which is a ordinary switch that pivots rather than a push button one.

Thank you very much I now have found the black water pump out macerator pump next problem is getting too it!!!!!!
I have just sold s cranchi Atlantique 40 and i thought the machinery space on the was tight!!! The 34 needs someone a lot young and slimmer to work in the engine space. Ha ha
thanks agian ad i have no 34 hand book

I am interested in some time changing to the Atlantique 40.

I've had a Zaffiro 34 and while the engine bay was tight, it was managable. However, I am now spoilt with my Smeraldo 37.... space in the engine bay is HUGE. This one is definitely a credit to Cranchi for after-thought of the poor sod who would be working / maintaining the engine bay.

Sorry to be changing the topic, but any chance you'd send any (all!) pics of your Atlantique 40? I know you've sold it, but you may have good pics of the engine access etc? I'd be grateful, thank you.

Hi vasty better than the zaffero.
I am 77 and not slim but i could stand between the engines from the saloon floor hatch and from the cockpit hatch it is fairly simple to crawl under the exhaust and then loads of room to the side of the starboard engine. At the front of the engines it it tight .for me but i can get round the front and down the side of the port engine. From the cockpit the port engine has the hot water tank to the left snd it would be very difficult to get to the side of port engine from the back. Acsess to shaft water seals is easy from cockpit. We went from 45 years sailing to the atlantque..great boat but so very different to handle from the outdive zaffero which is very responsive to wheel. The 40 is sedate and gentle. And much quieter. A very nice boat but now too big for us to keep and fly was problem gor my wife. Hope this helps. Any wuestions just ask
