Does anyone know the RAL colour code for Cranchi gelcoat? Cranchi use a standard beige / cream colour so should only be one colour. Or anyone know where I can find it?

Back in the days when I had the Z34, they were available to answer also single client requests, within reason...

If no luck any good GRP repair man will be able to colour match the gel coat for you and it may be better that way as the gel coat may have faded since coming out of the mould.

There is a guy at Brighton marina who fixed my cranchi when a Frenchman knocked it.
Don't know his name but the repair was 100 per cent invisible.
He was recommended by the marina

Problem is 'no GRP man' in the vicinity. My friend (a fibreglass / grp man) told me to get the RAL number and he'll make me up a batch of filler to have for future.
Wouldn't have a contact for him would you? Maybe he could send me some.

While I completely recommend Garth, what I would say is that the variations between shades in the RAL colour system are relatively large, so the chances of remotely purchasing a matching tub of gelcoat from an independent supplier are slim.
I would have thought your best chances are either to just 'get a man in' if you've got a specific problem to solve, or alternatively contact a Cranchi dealer to buy a tin of OE gelcoat. Of course the previous comments about the fading of gelcoat over time would still apply.

Understand what you're saying.
The bits to be touched up are half the size of a 1p coin, so 100% match isin't crucial. If I can't get a RAL number i'm going to get my gelcoat man to go up to a Cranchi local to him and get a colour match from that. It won't be perfect, but it'll be close

It was indeed Garth. I looked and looked and then gave up. It cost £100 for a gash about 3 inches long by an inch high.
The Frenchmans explanation was " but it is very windy" yes I gathered that - it was about a force 8 - so dont go out in it!
Also that same day a brand new very big Princess came in. He put in alongside in a huge cross wind ..... and the crew did not get the lines on.
He was then royally F****d.
He was in serious trouble drifting around and about to hit lord knows what. Suddenly he put on full power towards a dead end 100 mts away. I though f***.
The result was the boat back along side. He was either very skilled, very lucky or felt he was in such a bind he had nothing to loose, but god was it impressive to look at!

A few years back (2008 I think) I saw Cranchi guy at Malahide Boatyard to repair a bathing platform gelcoat. I can't remember the guys name unfortunately but I think the dealer is still there. Maybe he will travel?
