Cracking day out!

Two weeeks ago My boat got chartered for a few hours work on the Thames.
So at 730am we left a very cold but sunny Ramsgate and headed on up to the smoke.
We got home about 830 that evening some 152 miles later.

This was the first time for me on the river.

What an awesome way to see the capital city.

How is Ramsgate these days, only went there once this year due to the dog restrictions and there seemed to be fewer visitor berths.

I was wondering if you boated or tailered up there, glad to see you made the right choice. I can see from the number of photos of Tower Bridge that you got as big a kick out of that as I do. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It is quite novel being in London without going anywhere near a tube or taxi. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Ramsgate is good, whilst there maybe a notice regarding dogs no one seems to take any notice and no one is enforcing it either!
Been a busy summer down here, slowed up a bit now but still busy.
The boat has been busy all summer and still working now, which is good.

Martin,

Would have taken longer if we had taken it by trailer.
Not seen you about Martin, we all thought you had gone on holiday or something, even Matt mentioned it.
Hope all is ok and that you busy busy busy.

Only pain about the trip was fuel......no petrol!

Was private charter but we collected a few more once in town.

Whilst the seats were empty is was a great day and good experience for my team.

Oh aye, busy in Eastbourne and Portsmouth of late. And getting my commercial endorsement sorted out.

Fuel is a bit of a pain on the Thames, but I think there is a barge at Gallions?

No Fuel barge at Gallions when I visited in September. If you are willing to lug a jerry can or outboard tank there is a petrol station behind the boaty place with some guys name, I think it is Chas Newhams or similar.

As long as the tide is high enough you can moor alonside the wall and walk.
