Hi - I have done some very scientific tests on the CRQ anchor, seeing how it would set on 1 puppy power (1PP)

Well - as you can see the anchor adopted its usual side on approach to setting - which means it will never set.

Perhaps Hylas or Craig can let me know where my tests have gone wrong.

Appologies to Ladyjesse and other CQR stalwarts!

Brilliant ! Thought this was another boring anchor thingy, which would degenerate to fistcuffs. Might try it on next door's Rotties, next time they come chez nous!

1° - as the photo is not absolutely perfect,(at least the anchor part) I can't be 103% sure.. but it seems that it is not a genuine CQR, but a cast copy.. may be a Plastimo SOC??

2° - the anchor is lying on its side.. wich is the "normal" sliding position of the CQR..

3° - as it is both well known and well documented, the favorite ground of the CQR is not at all WEED..

4° - I don't know why you did attach this poor dog to the anchor.. do you want to drown it??

5° - but I believe you found the best use of the CQR.. to decorate you back yard!..

6° - for those who doesn't have a dog.. may I suggest one other use??

oops.. I apologize.. it is not a CQR.. but one anchor which has a much longer experience.. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The Vatican Mafia Anchor wont even work like a fisherman should, as the stock is in the same plane as the flukes, rather than at right angles....... so it will slide much more effectively than any other anchor!
I'll have Chris Robb's excellent CRQ anchor any day - if 1 PP of grunt cant shift it, it has to be pretty good!
