CPD is poorly

Looks like can now post from Bberry. Thank you one and all for your messages. It now seems like an age since I was lying on the bed last Wednesday eve following your kind suggestions, and believe me I did - even the complicated ones.3 splenic aneurisms (artery to sploeen) were found and one on relatively minor artery to kidney, one of which bled thurs early morning creating the pain that led to the 999 call. Bleeding aneurisms on aeorta often open the curtains quickly. Mine were on less major arteries tho curtains twiched - I fainted for the first time in my life but happily came out of it. That with hinsight was scary. I have been very very lucky. . . A and E tests and headscratching (splenic aneurisms are apparently very rare) gave up 2 options. Option 1.catheter into artery in groin with camera and manipulator to place blockage devices directly into artery to effectively stop arterial flow thereby removing aneurism and bleed risk. Damage in this case to spleen possible. This is high tech preferred route - easier for tyem and me and less risky. Option 2 is cut open and tie off affected arteries - mortality rate stated about 10pcnt so best avoided. Last thurs pm was option 1 tubed up and ready to go option 2 if needed. CT scan yesterday showed not sucessful. Option 1 to be tried again tomorrow which WILL be followed by option 2 prob next week if unsucessful again.Best guess is results of tomorrow will be out on Monday.

Quite heavy stuff then tho feel no guilt about posts in the early stages of this saga. Laughter really is proving the best medicine. Its a mind over matter game and all your comments have been fantastic. Thanks Jim and Lybbe for dropping by and Jim for his updates on here and surprise show this eve - top drawer stuff. Friends and family have been fantastic also and I know untold worrying has been the order of the day. In that respect I have had it pretty easy really.

Tanya has been a rock. Thank you my sweet xxx. It was Tanya's birthday on Thursday too.

Will update here and facebook as soon as. Thanks again everyone. Very very much.

Brilliant to hear from you on here Alan, will be in touch with Tanya to arrange a possible visit, but I'll leave that to the girls to sort out as I'm off on night shift soon
Best of luck with the procedures and keep in touch
Anything you need, shout
Just don't ask for a nubile nurse, bit short of them at the moment :D
No Tanya, I didn't say that  don't believe him

Hi Dave, have already retated to Tanya and others two very funny incidents involving very pretty nurses. One involved an egyptian and a rubber glove, the other a male nurse and a catheter. Both priceless. Will share over a beer soon.

Looking forward to it matey, the story and beer that is, not the male nurse and ...
If all goes to plan we'll be parked just around the corner from you in the not too distant future, so more chance of meeting up for a beer or two than ever before, could be quite worrying for some :D
Take it easy buddy, you have an appointment or three to keep
I hear Roger is going to supply a crate of the best ;)

I hope the Surgeon is not hard of hearing and someone says "Just remove his spectacles"

Get better soon!

Alan screamed in agony as the nubile young nurse applied the treatment

The consultant hearing Alans screams rushes in and shouts at the nurse

"I said prick his boil, you deaf bint"

Arriving late as usual first time i have logged on since departing UK middle of Jan scary to find that all hell has broken loose on the CPD front. Having now read all the posts on this thread having spent new year aboard Mr T in my humble medical opinion the blockages are prob down to frozen arteries i know mine were far from normal on new years day.
We had to open up the companionway to let some heat in.

Al sorry to hear about your probs but glad it all seems to be coming out well est of luck for a rapid recovery.

Neville & Janey

The unofficial resulat is that the op last Wednesday was a complete sucess. There is a mult-dept surgeons mtg on Tuesday am, tho it is fairly certain that a further CT scan will be asked for to happen end next week. After that who knows.
Bags of pain Wedbesday pm then (hursday felt like worst hangover of all time. )Esterday better and same today so feels like now on the mend.
