A really quick one filmed this morning so please don't judge too harshly.

I was actually hoping to film the boat yesterday but it was a bit too windy, launched and recovered off the back of the boat but the drone was getting blown around too much so aborted. Filmed this instead.

It was a lovely day. We needed to get the boat out for a run and re-fuel it. I'm not a fan of marinas when we're out and about but Cowes Yacht Haven is a great place, particularly in the winter.

Dinner in Murrays was the icing on the cake ;)

What a beautiful morning. Were there many visiting boaters in the marina? Some of the boats seem to be moored so that they are not going anywhere unless others move out of the way (the Bav close to your boat, for instance).

That breakwater must make a big difference to that area. We had the pleasure of visiting Cowes back in 2012, what a beautiful place. Btw, I presume those rows of red buoys are for mooring. Are they for visiting boaters and that is the charge for using them?

Very nice video Henry and particularly useful to me as I have never been to Cowes but will take my boat there one day

Cowes, like many Uk harbours uses common sense and cooperation to deal with mooring up. If someone blocks you in we have a chat and arrange a shuffle if need be. In actual fact I got in and out with a boat astern of us, neap tide and not too much wind :)

I'm hoping to build up a number of short film covering the different harbours, particularly a spring low water. Places like Bembridge would be useful, I know back in the day I held off going there for a long time as you had to use a tide.

The small red buoys just to the East of the marina are used for sailing dinghies during the season. They are all one class of boat. The breakwater is supposed to take the worst of the energy out of a North Easterly, What I do know is that it causes so strange currents in the marina.

It was obviously much quieter than the summer but there were a number of motorboats and yachts visiting. A lot of people are like us and keep their boat in the water over winter, taking it out for a week or two for the necessary work. We use a shed now to ensure ideal conditions for polishing, anti foul etc.

I'm sure those would be very useful to others. As would this   :)

I can imagine the nice atmosphere being out there out of the season :encouragement:.
