It sounds like quite an event, with a lot of history.

Coincidentally one of our clients owns the 1968 winner of this event, 'Telstar', run by Tommy Sopwith at the time. The boat is stored locally in a shed, the current owner was only talking to me about getting her back into the water last week.

There is a very good chance that Ocean Pirate, of 2 Round Briatain races will be taking part.

Just trying to get the crew to commit, we have 75% of the crew at the moment!

I found the Huntress a very wet boat, the Huntsman is a little drier but still in Solent chop can be very wet.

The H31 and SPearfish hull and indeed the Swordsman are much drier and softer, but not as sporty feeling.

On the H28 I love the lunge fwd at 20 knots when you crack open to WOT.

They do feel very solid in the water, will push through a big sea and in a following sea feel very secure.

Carrying the deep V all the way aft they are not so fast or fuel efficient as a a more modern design on outdrives.

At risk of being ex-communicated from the Fairey Owners Club I think the Levi hulls might just have the edge over the Hunt/Burnard hulls. There. I've said it!

Cant really comment on the Shead hulls.
