Cowes scrubbbers

I think you were dreaming.

A month or so ago, someone posted about a boat wash thing that was either in development or may have been coming into service. But I think that was in NE Europe somewhere (may have been Germany or Sweden - I don't recall exactly). And some of us reckoned it would only really be suitable for RIBS and other boats that didn't have appendages sticking out into the water.

Could that be what you were thinking of?

There used to be a scrubber in Haslar, well actually acording to a story I heard today Wetherspoons in Gosport High street ......

But no, Haslar marina used to have something which scrubbed the hull. It's been replaced by Sealift which is a much better idea. You actually get to see what's happening and it's very quick. We've used it a few times.

Henry :)

Thanks Henry.

If he was dreaming then some of us were sharing it - I definitely remember talk of a sort of underwater carwash scrubby thing that you'd pull your boat through. Aimed at racing yachts who wanted a quick and easy clean-off every week or two.

We have been frequent customers of the Sealift. It's very good. But you need to be organised as they charge by the hour so be clear on what you want them to do. If you want anodes take your own as they don't have much stock and Sod's law will be the wrong ones anyway. Other than that it's good. Go for it

We don't have the boat yet, just thinking ahead and recognising it may not have been recently antifouled, just cleaned off for a survey and put back in. Here in USA we had a monthly diver clean and anodes(called here 'zincs') replaced as needed at the same time.
