.86p per litre sounds like a lot - we only paid .63 in October.

Has everyone gone off the idea of brewing their own

You will have to excuse me - mind is on another plane at the moment /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Still, there was a lot of talk at the time about forumites brewing their own diesel - has anyone done it?

It is still on husbands list of things to explore when he has a moment.

I looked at it, I even wrote about the process in the mag. I can't see anyone really doing it unless river based and only using a few litres here and there.

Too much hassle to make and cart to the boat, no warranty on engines, reliability problems real or perceived, and even the cost as the value of veggie oil goes up. Even used oil commands a price now I hear.

I think it's a non starter unless you can buy the stuff ready made to a good quality, delivered to your boat and cheap enough to be attractive.

Thanks - so whats the price then if you declare 40% for heating / other

There was quite alot of confusion when the pump prices were shown at 55-60p. To give you a better idea, add 25p to advertisd pump prices on a 60/40 split declaration.

Lymington, this weekend was 54p for 300 litres plus.

It would be nice if fuel suppliers listed 3 prices for all to see. 100% rebated for commercial, 100% full duty for those that need it and 60/40 for the majority of us. If anyone wants to declare a different percentage it can be roughly gauged by looking at the three prices above and worked out by the supplier with a simple calculation.
