Pretty bad in Cowes tonight.

We were kicked out the Anchor as water was coming in the front door. High street impassible.

I'd upload a picture but forum software says I'm over some sort of limit.

You have already saved to many attachments perhaps. Or you are trying to load a picture which is too big..

If the former delete some old ones. ( your allowance includes your "album" pictures I think)

If the latter make it smaller first.

Via Photobucket is a much better way way to post pictures!

5.3m, that's not a tide, it's under half of one! But then I suppose you do get twice as many.

Sea rush, I'm sure your wise words will be of deep comfort to all those whose properties have been flooded by this mere dribble of a tide! A little more sensitivity might be in order?

Total non event in Lymington. Only worrying bit was the police telling people to evacuate the area for their own safety due to an inch and a half of water covering half the pavement by the slipway.

Lymington have actually invested in some sensible flood defences in the way of walls and barriers to keep out the tide along the river. Cowes put in drains which are great when it rains but not so great when the tide comes over them.

On a lighter note, was walking up the cobbles to Tesco to get some supplies a couple of hours before the high tide. Couple of coppers were doing sandbags. A car alarm went of and quick as a flash one of them turned round and shouted "Sorry...we're not doing crime tonight"
