Cowes Classic Powerboat Rally 2015

Hi Ben. What are the criteria for being able to enter? I will be down there at that time but not sure if I would be welcome in a 1991 Squeeker?

If the boat has some pedigree for racing offshore, such as Cowes-Torquay or Miami -Nassau. Most hulls designed by Sonny Levi, Ray Hunt or Alan Burnard, built before 1990 by Souter, or Fairey, or Bertram would all be fine. As an example, we do allow the Alan Burnard designed Swordsman 40, based on the Swordsman 33 and Dagger hull. So while we're fairly lax, in the nicest possible way we try to avoid 'towering white GRP'. We discourage anything flybridge unless its got race history.

We do have Britannia Plastics, Riva, Tod, Teal, Magnum.

Think your Squeeker, lovely as it may be, probably not the right boat for the event. Soz. An original Sunseeker S20 might be though. They raced.

Thanks Ben. Yes my old girl has no racing history apart from trying to get to the Folly on a Friday night before last orders. I will still turn up and admire from a distance. Great to see so many of my childhood dream boats restored to perfection.
