Where is the racing course(s). I am thinking of going down the solent thursday and would like to avoid the racers in their and my best interest.

The whole Solent basically.
But the key is really the start line, starts from about 10AM to 12 or so.
People sailing sensibly with some consideration are not a problem.
The course for the day may be on the website.
Just try to avoid busy turning marks.
Or not getting between two boats of a class who are competing.

Your consideration is appreciated.

As a competitor, the only issues we've ever had have been with 'spectator boats' or 'corporate entertainment' types who stop to give the customers a good view right in the way.
A lot of it will be finished by 4pm each day, it's tailing off by 2pm.

That is very helpful thanks.

Leave the Solent Sea!

I've only sailed on the Solent Sea once and was alarmed by the number of boats. Goodness knows what it will be like when they all start racing each other.
