Anyone had issues with Covercraft Industrial of Inverkip ? I paid a deposit 3 months ago for a new flybridge cover and nothing. They replied a month ago to say it would be another 3 weeks. I was initially quoted 4-6 weeks as they are busy.

Cant stand it when companies treat customer like this. If I did , I would be out of business.

I just think its cover/upholstery companies in that area they all seem difficult to get a job done we had a similar problem with another company in Ardrossan we did have a repair done by covercraft which was done fairly quick but it was out of season and just a small job
We got some upholstery work done in a little shop in largs and he did a good job for pennies but then he doesnt usually do boats so doesnt add the "marine"surcharge
I guess you will just have to keep chaseing them
On a seperate issue if im ordering something expensive that is going to take a while I always pay with a credit card so I have that extra level of protection

You wont be the first to have that problem George, you'll get a decent job out of him but be prepared to wait, i had similar issues in the past with a cockpit canopy, keep calling and eventually you'll get your work done.

I used Saturn Sails in Largs last year for my flybridge, they quote a long lead time, 6-8 weeks but delivered more or less on time.

Best to call in to Kip and talk to them, the link with Silvers seems to be the route cause.

As for the other "planet" at Largs, I am still waiting for them to look at and give me an estimate for work on our HR29, that was in 2005, we've changed boats three times since then!

Covercraft always take ages to do anything. And I mean ages! I got a quote for some flybridge covers and gave hem the order. Over a year later I am still waiting. They are trading normally despite the Silver's issue.

It's a pity because the thing is, their work is fine, so if you do eventually get the job done you will are unlikely to have any complaints. Other than the fact that you will a few years older by then that is! They do the work on their terms, which is basically when they can be bothered doing it.

Managed to get a reply from them and they are saying this week. Glad there is nothing wrong with their work when you eventually do get it. I am not prepared to wait a year though and will be chapping their door for the deposit back if it doesnt arrive soon.

I'm just about to order new covers, I had spoken to cover craft but in light of the comments above who else would you suggest in the Kip area?
