Ok tradional dark blue material , the wind has blown my fly bridge double seat cover away, in which I thought was impossible , but I have made a template after getting a machine. It could be a balls up . So where do I buy material from or does anyone want to sell. Cheers SS.

I’ve now made one spray hood and two cockpit tents using Sauleda from Point North Fabrics but I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed with the durability of their waterproof quality: two years and completely porous, despite never having been cleaned with any type of detergent or soap.
If I did it again (which I definitely won’t) I’d try something different.

I haven't bought any from Points North but Sauleda make various types of fabric and I've been using their "Sea Star" fabric for 20 or so years with no durability or waterproof problems. Last sprayhood fabric lasted around 18 years and bimini 12 years.

Interesting... I'm wondering though...

The 'coated' side of the fabric... Did you make the tent/sprayhood with the coated side inside or on the outside/exposed side?

Perhaps I should have just added that if you're using PU 'coated' fabric, the coating would normally be on the inside of the finished item (away from the damaging UV sunlight and abrasion)..

Easy to tell which side is coated by a water drop test. Just drop a few drops of water onto either side.. It will stay as nice round droplets on the uncoated side.. and that's the side that will be outermost on the finished sprayhood.

😂 Yes, I definitely had it the right way round. The second tent was coated fabric, the first and the sprayhood were not.
All were off white fabric and easy to tell inside from out.
I’ve seen on another thread that others have had difficulty waterproofing their canvas as I have. Two applications of Scotch Guard and still porous - it’s a very annoying mystery.
