If I buy or sell a long load like a spinnaker pole or boom, how are these transported around the UK?

I normally use a local courier firm but they won't touch anything over 2.5 metres.

Is there a solution?

go onto a local haulage company (in yellow pages under road haulage), and ask them for a price for when they are next going to the area that you want to deliver to,

I purchased furling gear off ebay (a fellow forumite) and we could not get any of the normal companies to courier it. In the end we both agreed to walk away from the deal. If you run a company or know of somebody that does then they will courier larger items but not from an individual

Why not phone a mast manufacturer up and ask them how they get things like spinni poles, booms, etc. to customers. I am buying a new spinni pole and was assured that 12ft was not a problem.
