Could you lend an anchor..Please

I am crewing for Blue Pearl in the Lundy Island Race on the 30th May and am posting this on his behalf as he is incommunicado at the moment.

Blue Pearl is thinking of anchoring outside of the Ilfracoombe port and has been advised to use two anchors. Below is a copy of an e-mail sent to me..

"Reading the race notice they say that they are suggesting / requiring boats to use 2 anchors if mooring outside the harbour ............ we only have one ! s unless you know someone who can lend us an anchor ( I stil have the 12m 10mm chain that was on our anchor before ............. really need to find a friendly sailor who will lend us an anchor and maybe chain ........ in return they can join us for the race ??" (Quote Blue Pearl).

Blue Pearl has 12m LOA.

I know how helpful people are on this forum, so if you are or know a friendly sailor please pm me. We will also be in the Portishead Marina in the afternoon.

I would buy one, you should have two anyway and also 12m seems too little.

We have to kind offers from people who are willing to lend an anchor so no problem for the weekend.

The main anchor has 40m of 10mm chain, so plenty of holding power there.
