Azi “ Grande “ assume its a 100 ish today’s thing .Glass everywhere.I guess from the inside and on it the space + light works .
Bit like 911,s until the next modal pops up at the next show .You will always or very quickly have a clearly older version and everyone will know .

Quite sore on the eyes but realise it’s someones baby .Not sure where S/Sker are going with theses ?

Pershing 5x , it’s following us around :) , but I think a better interpretation of modern glazing along the hull and the HT is proportional unlike the S/ Sker imho .

Nice write up L. We have been staying local, but had two nights in Nice, which we really like. The area around the port has a great vibe and lots of new places to try for food and drinks.

Had lunch yesterday with Deleted User and Mrs Deleted User in a bay this way. A great meal and it was excellent to catch up with them.

The downer of the day was when the chief of security got under my feet when I was getting into the dingy to take him ashore for a walk and I took a swim, with my iPhone!!! Oh well it gave me an excuse to buy a new one.....

Delta Powerboats.
Btw, her flybridge looks more extended over the p/house, pretty much like jfm suggested.
Maybe someone at the yard took note...

Wrong. That is a Wally Ace behind the Pershing 70.

Portofino
Sanlorenzo 82 was launched in 1996 and produced till 2014. A change only came in around 2007 with SL82 designation which improved and extended a bit the glass in the super structure and they became frame-less.
The Azimut should be the Grande 27 metri (launched in 2018) which is selling like hot cakes as far as I am told, and I do think it deserve it cause there is not much like it in her size and type for design and use of spaces. Might have been one of the last Righini projects, as since then Mancini has take over at Azimut and SR has retired.

Ah, dogs on boats can make or break a cruise! But these long hot summers with the heat, noise, people and choppy waters are really stressful on them. I feel a bit bad because I got angry with our pooch the other day (I didn’t actually tell him off a lot because he’s little and nervy) anyhow I bribed him for forgiveness and it appears to have worked. Of course he doesn’t know the next cruise starts today

Pic upload is behaving at the mo :encouragement:

Air temp 30 (11,AM local time ) and sea 25 on this S side noticeably cooler from the 28 recorded on the other side yesterday.
I guess it sweeps in from a long way off .

Hey Porto, we are on the island:) unfortunately we’ve been put on the sea wall with all the yachts:( no. PF12.
Let us know where you are.

We have moved round to Porquerolles island .There were a few too many Medusa for Mrs PF,s liking in Port Cros .
.
Every time we've been anywhere near Port Cros, its always been full of jellies. Not sure why. Seems to be jellyfish central

Bouba motored across the bay yesterday to Porquerolles and we shared a glass of rose on board and finished up having a nice tapas in a dog friendly restaurant overlooking the marina with the sun setting .

There’s a nice fine sand beach.

We will move after lunch to another gem nearby .

I'm a bit surprised by your throttles, PF.
I suppose the gearboxes are still controlled through a lever, hence the need for either cables or actuators.
But I thought that only electronic throttles can be interfaced with electronically controlled engines...?

I like them , simple and manly to grab , they click 1 st , N and R so you can move them without looking in tight manoeuvres your eyes can focus on targets as you here the clicks back and forth .You can feel the clicks as well like a well known gate gear change on well known Italian sports car maker ( predominantly red coloured :))

Yup they are electronic , the engines so there a boden cable to potentiometer on top of the ECU box for the engines .converts cable to electronic.
The gear boxes are plane vanilla cables twin disc 501 ,s iirc .?

I also like mechanical throttles - even more with separate levers for gear and throttle, but that's a pet peeve of mine, sort of.

I only asked out of idle curiosity, because I can't remember to have ever come across a boat with elec engines but mech levers.
The typical setup is with electronic levers directly wired to the engine, and an actuator moving the g/box lever.
Interesting to see an exactly opposite approach.

Back on topic, very nice pics of Porquerolles!
They bring back nice memories of the forum diving cruise onboard BA...

Mapis I think the engines are mechanically governed but just happen to have some electronic sensors that talk on early j1939 to electronic screen read outs. The engines won’t react to that data; it is merely displayed. The rpm will be set mechanically with a centrifugal mechanical governor.
I don’t know first hand but this feels logical.
