During the short summer months in Norway I run a motor yacht charter service mainly with business groups on my beloved m.s. Eight Bells. I met my wife on the internet and are now spending the second winter in Costa Verde half way between Rio and Santos. I am renting an apartment here and have a small alu. runabout to visit the hundreds of secluded beaches here. There are many new marinas under construction here and the prices are unbelieveable for everything. You can buy a nice flat for around US$ 136.000.- or a house for US$ 680.000.- The scenery is fantastic and the brasilians are very friendly and helpful. I'm nearly ready to cross from Canaries Islands toward Brazil..
What about the six months time limit for foreign boats there?? Any new??

Still 6 months I'm affraid but there are a great number of visitors staying for years without detection but if you are caught, you will not be allowed to return again...

Depending upon your plans and circumstances, I have a business venture here
which will allow you to obtain a permanent visa. I am starting a regular catamaran passenger route between Rio - Angra - Paraty - Ubatuba - Ilhabela and are looking for investors. The brasilian authorities will grant you a permanent business visa if you invest min. US$ 200.000.- in a business in Brasil.

Hi !!

I would recommend you stay in one of the "pousadas" which are family owned
guest houses often with great character and reasonable. Depending on what season you arrive, from R$ 70-100 per room (2) including a lovely buffet breakfast.

You can hire a small runabout with an outboard here quite reasonably, and a 23
footer with captain for about R$ 500.- per day. Bare-boating in larger boats is very difficult here, they usually require a skipper to be onboard but I have a connection in Angra dos Reis, a little further up the coast who will charter sailing boats to experienced sailors within the large bay of Ilha Grande.
