in my case i signed up to do a course with no idea of the preparation required. i've taught commercially for 10 years (at up to 10 times the rate of pay) but never before had to write down to the last 5 minutes what time i would spend on each small topic. to then find there was going to be an inspection (like schools ofsted) this term was the last straw, especially the thought of some jobsworth sitting at the back and criticising me on a 'risk assessment' instead of my teaching. my course didn't get enough applicants so i was spared the trouble and i won't be going back!
