Cost of liferaft service

When I do the sums it seems that the cost of buying a cheaper liferaft and servicing it comes out to about £100p/a over its 12 year life...

Interesting. My liferafts are 12 years old, and well past their service date, so replacement may be a good option. It really bugs me that the perishable items are not packed in a user-replaceable compartment, I recon the worst thing you can do to folded inflatable item is inflate it and pack it away again.

Liferaft serviceing

I have just spoken to Northwest Marine Ltd in Liverpool, £60 basic service charge for a Seago 4man valise + parts. I also priced a service locally here in Newtownards, £140 + parts + vat. I know where my liferaft is going, as I will not be supporting the rip-off merchants over here. Even taking into account Courier each way at £25 you are still saving ££££££.
