We were all set to buy a Corvette 32 but one of the fuel tanks had been replaced, the other not, sadly the seller became obstructive when we asked to pressure test the tank, sadly we didn't go through with the sale as it was in super condition.

Understand why you wanted to do it, but I wouldn’t allow pressure testing either, it’s a condition that the tank does not experience in use which could cause a failure that would otherwise not have happened. Not surprised they refused it. Would have been reasonable to assume the tank needed replacement and reflect that in an offer.

You likely missed a bullet as changing these tanks is a job for a previous owner ! I personally would avoid VP engines as these all used the series with plate style heat exchangers and these are now very difficult to replace and will be on the 'I will soon fail' list. Cummins far far better. OK I had one seize but that was not the engines fault and the parts were easy to obtain and sensibly priced.
