Corvette 32 Corvette 320

Does anyone have any experience or information on the Corvette 32 or 320 in particular the older models, I am considering this as a liveaboard. I am not sure why but it just seems to ring the right bells with me. I have read that the older models were "not as well built as the newer Seacoral versions. Freind of a Freind has one, I had good look over her last year or so, she was a "good one" and very very nice /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif- I was amazed at how much room their was onboard.

I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along shortly, but from memory the original builders went broke which possibly had something to do with their quality of build. or vice verce?? I think the decks were meant to be one of the "weak" points with a couple of other things I can't quite remember. sorry.

Thanks for that, they are expensive, but from what I have read they handle well in rough weather, they also from the many boats I have considered (Online only) seem to have the biggest differential between prices which I find strange. I Have looked at the site you suggested as you suspected, thanks anyway.

Hi - can't help with the boat I'm afraid, but I would go back and edit your original message to remove your displayed e-mail address if I were you.

I displayed my e-mail address on here a few months ago - you wouldn't believe the quantity of shite that arrives in my webmail now. Not suggesting dodgy forumites for a moment, but I understand there are "bots" or summat that trawl forums to scan/harvest live e-mail addresses.

Apart from the Build quaility stuff (and whether any of the points have been addressed), plus the usual equipment levels / ages............it's the Engines that cause the prices to vary, apart from the usual age differences (some have been re-engined), engine size (and speed wise) they vary from pretty much displacement speeds to Zoooooooom!

One in the next Marina to Me. Had fuel tank leaky rotty probs. The difficulty was extracting the old ones. Lots of deck removal going on. The Tanks are a definate supect on early types and it seems quite a difficult and expensive fix.
From memory there have been at least three firms involved in the Marque.

Depending on Your usage, it seems those with the larger engine cofiguration are best sought. To make use of the Unique hull design which enables the Vessel to get along quite quickly.
They do appear a bit of a Tardis, I have boarded a few and the layout is very good.
Nice wide sidedecks. There is a "safe" feal about them that's for sure.
Albeit I have never driven one or been to Sea in one.
BIG inside for a 32 footer.
It's the same old storey. Go as new as You can afford with the biggest engines.
Anyway new user You've got Me all Agitated.
Can I have a go in Your's if You get one?

Yeah that 3 firms involved does now ring a bell, as does the stuff about the fuel tanks.

If (I wish!) I was buying I would go for one that did at least late teens cruising speed - anything less on this style of boat (and for the money) would I think be something of a harder sell, given what else is on the market for that money.........especially for "only" liveaboard use.

Yep it appears the fact that they plane is the attraction.
C Kips and other Grand Banks look alikes of that ilk are in displacement mode. Untill you get into the more recent vessells. Then we are talking lots more dosh than a fairly recent Corvette.
If one wants a Grand Banks or the Ilk which is "Quick" one has to get ones Cheque book out Big Style.

They are currently built by Corvette Marine in Reedham, Norfolk and have been since 1991.

I don't have personal experience of them but they seem well built and the hulls have a reputation for going well in the rough stuff.

I think the website is playing with words or telling porkies if you like. The boat may well have been built at Reedham since 1991 but AFAIK it has been built by different companies at least one of which has gone bust so word is that the quality does vary depending on the year of manufacture although reputedly it is a fine sea boat

Hi i have had a corvett over 4 years good sea boat we live on about 6 months of the year we left north east coast 2005 and went through the french canals we are in BCN we have new plastic tanks and new teak decks fitted by the last owner at great expence 2 210 hp cummins happy to talk to you if it helps
