I have just spoken with Mike Holbert of Pants. The important bit of the their Exclusions is at the end of no.4 :Consequential damage......is covered provided that an Insured peril has occurred.
But, reading their exclusions above, electrolysis (corrosion) isn't an insured risk, it's specifically excluded.
What I'm saying, is that virtually all policies are worded in such a way that insurers can, if they wish, reject claims. It's a pity we can't get them all together and get standard wording so they can then just compete on service and price.
