Hi there,
Glad the forum's back up and running again so I can ask the following:

Has anybody used these people: http://www.nmcs.org.uk/index.php for a RYA course?

Thinking of taking the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory course with them...?

Corresponence Courses

I started one of their course about 10 years ago. It was fine. I, however, was not. I completed the first module, got 96% for it and then stopped.
 
NMCS correspondence course

I did the day skipper power theory. I enjoyed, I might do their yachtmaster theory this winter.

I did my Day Skipper with them. I thought they are very efficent and proffesional. There was several occasions when I just couldn't get any where near their answers in the self test sections. When I gave them a call to ask what I was doing wrong, the tutor would do the question on the phone with me and tell me I'm correct and the answer in the course material was incorrect!!!! But as the course went on, I began to wonder if these errors weren't built in to test me out.....so to speak??

Quick hijack.....

Can you go straight to Yachtmaster or do you need to complete dayskipper first. I have looked at the course notes for day skipper and I know 99% of the material contained therein.

That's exactly what I'm doing....maybe we should all get together and ask for a big discount!
