The original lights corroded long time ago and I had temporary lights in place - and like many things in life - temporary becomes permanent !

I kept saying I would sort out the angle the lights created .... so out with 3D printer and a tape measure. I measured the required wedges and .....

Finally fitted today. Still need a bit to correct the bottom and maybe another few mm to the greater depth. At least they are nearer required ... ready for 2020 cruising of Baltic.

Here's stbd light as before ... you can see its angled in ..

Port light being fitted - you can see the 3D printed wedge correcting the lights angle. It still needs a bit more on the bottom ... but at least its better ..

Here you see the two ... before and after ... sorry I forgot to fit lens to port one !!

Before anyone moans about being 'dirty' .... its winter here and she will get a good clean up in spring ...

It's probably cheaper to 3D print that than mill a wedge from plastic stock?
Certainly easier to buy the materials?

I keep telling myself
I don't need a 3d printer....

Yes ... of course I could have run up other gear and cut wood wedges ... but thought 3D print - then its maintenance free ...

I must admit that often I print something that can be bought cheap of ebay etc. - but its nice to modify / create for own use.

The wedges were actually originally a single square block and then with software - I sliced to create a matching pair of wedges. Saved the two halves.

They still need adjustment in design ... but I've run out of white filament at moment ... so it will wait a bit. When I fit Mk2 wedges - I will also replace the wiring as its old and got hard ...
