Hopefully this is a simple one ,

should the skids on my trailer be touching my boat, after a few difficult launches someone mentioen that the skids on the trailer were to high and the boat should only be resting on the rollers whilst launching and that the skids should only be raised for transporting , it makes sense but i thought best just to check :) Jc

Have the boat level and evenly across all rollers. Bring up loosened skids (covered in a liberal handful of Vaseline) up to meet the hull so that the skids support but do not lift to high off the rollers. They should rest with some weight 85% on the rollers 15% remaining on skids. Ratchet straps (bow eye back to beam) front and rear two ski eyes to beam. When all is tight all is secure this set up should work pretty well and ensure easier launches. This also works very well for roller set ups also.
