Hi Ive got a Princess 435 which ive just re engined with twin TAMD 63l's.
The boat used to have Volvo D6's so has massive four blade props which we thought would over prop the boat with the new install...... does anyone have the correct prop size and pitch?? i know Byron had a 435 a while back.....can you help?? Will be using the boat on the Thames.
Thanks

Do you mean the boat had tamd61a engines which are 306hp at 2800 rpm? If so the prop size difference would be neglidgeable unless you did have the d6 engines which rev much higher than the 61s.

Really? Why would you re-engine D6 for TAMD63L?

That would be the third set of engines at least, wouldn't it? P435 out the factory would have had TAMD61A or TAMD71B. D6 engines are at least 10 years newer than the hull.

Ahh, ok. Didn't wish to question you on your own boat, but seemed a little odd and has big implications for drivetrain and prop.

A P435 with 61A engines would have props in the region of 22x24. The 63L is more equivalent in power to the 71B engines, so maybe worth giving Princess a call. They have been most accomodating to me in the past, casting me a new prop for my P385 three years ago. Princess parts dept are on 01752893031.

63l is 318hp at 2800 rpm, 71a 357hp 71b 380 hp both at 2600 rpm, different box ratios and prop sizes.

I'd say if 318 63l has Irm 220 2.04 to 1 ratio then find a 306 hp version for prop size.

Yep it's the dinette version! I've re powered with 2004 tamd 63's, side power bow and stern thruster, bezenzonzi passerelle, 5ft extended bathing platform, new radar arch, full rewire, new calorifier, bat chargers, transponder, and lots more and just completing a full interior re fit and new covers and ive done a full machine cut and compound! Then she's up for sale..... Maybe!! Or at least that's what I'm telling the wife!!

Wow! With all that done I have a feeling she'll be outside my price bracket - sounds lovely though :)

Once again, VP has trumped me with the numbers - damn that man and his wealth of Volvo knowledge..:) Princess will be able to source props for a 61A version, and advise if there may be a better option. Good luck getting her finished!
