For the life of me my brain refuses to recall the name of a certain type of brass washer. They are found in the sections of my cabin sole and allow a countersunk screw to sit flush, provide support without the screw crushing and recessing further into the sole, I guess they also stop the edge from splitting: brass, round, counter sunk, sit in an over sized hole, then drilled through for the screw hole. I have been searching for them on ebay but only appear to find cup washers that sit on the surface. When fitted there is just a small rim visible around the screw head.

Help!

They come in different sizes to suit the screw you want to use, ie a 4,6,7,8,9,10mm, best cut the hole for them with auger bit, slowly with a carpenter brace, else the depth will run away with you, using an electric drill. I've got box full, cannot remember the size, an auger leaves a lovely crisp sharp edged hole, otherwise they look buggered up. Retired carpenter.
