Correct antifoul

21.7 first drop keel boat, marina kept south coast.... what antifoul would you recommend and how much for one coat.
Practical advice greatly appreciated as I am out of date with the new makes and products.

I have tried many in the past and found most don't work that well especially the cheaper ones. It is very location/water specific. I'm in Chichester which has been particularly bad in recent years so I have gone for 3 coats of micron extra, 4 on front of keel and just below the waterline with a Trilux boot top of 4 coats. I was going to try the Micron 66 super yacht stuff but the tech support at international said not so good in cooler water. I suggest you have a word with the technical support teams at International, Blakes and jotun.

We are using Uno at the moment, because its cheap, just lasts a year and with 3 litre tins I can just do one coat on a 31 foot yacht with twin keels. Next year? might try several coats of Seajet and see if we can make two years between painting.

You could try bring the boat out of the water 2 or 3 times a year jet washing and polishing, this can work out cheaper than antifouling.

The advice I had was that the local chandlery will probably keep the one that works in your area!
